From local league to community association
STA grew from regular Shiner court time into a nonprofit focused on organized play, welcoming more ages and skill levels, and improving the courts at Green-Dickson Park.
Shiner women started the momentum. STA is carrying it forward.
What started in summer of 2021 with Shiner Women’s United Tennis League, the original SWUTs, grew into the Shiner Tennis Association nonprofit in 2026.
STA was formed to meet the needs of a growing tennis community, organize play for more ages and skill levels, and improve the courts at Green-Dickson Park.
